Abstract

This article investigates silence as a literary device from a methodological and theoretical perspective. It analyzes how silence functions in literary texts as a structural, semantic, and pragmatic element of meaning-making. The study focuses on silence as a representation of emotional expression, narrative strategy, and interpretative ambiguity. Drawing on literary theory and narrative analysis, the article demonstrates that silence is not merely the absence of language but a meaningful communicative tool that shapes reader interpretation and textual depth.
